Areas of Use

Hettich Rotofix 32A is a compact and extremely robust benchtop centrifuge that has been a preferred choice in laboratories worldwide for many years. With nine available rotors and a wide range of accessories, it is the most flexible centrifuge in its class – in a compact footprint of only approx. 23 kg.

Typical areas of use include:

  • Quality control and routine analysis in clinical and medical laboratories
  • Centrifugation of blood samples, urine samples and other biological specimens
  • Cytology and cell preparation – compatible with most existing funnel/glass systems
  • Chrome Bath analysis in the surface treatment industry
  • Sample preparation for environmental and water analysis
  • Separation and particle analysis in the chemical industry
  • Centrifugation of conical tubes (5–50 ml) in production and quality control
  • Precision centrifugation up to 4,226 g with angle rotor 1620A

Rotofix 32A is IVDR-compliant in accordance with EU Regulation 2017/746 for use in regulated diagnostic and industrial environments.

Advantages

Rotofix 32A is an exceptionally versatile centrifuge for laboratories – reliable, compact and easy to operate.

Nine rotors – the most versatile in its class
With nine available rotors and support for a range of tube types and sample volumes from micro liters to 94 ml flasks, no other benchtop centrifuge in this class offers comparable breadth.

Extremely compact and lightweight
With a footprint of only 366 × 430 mm and a weight of only approx. 23 kg, Rotofix 32A can practically be placed anywhere – on a standard lab bench, in a mobile analysis system or in a tight production facility.

Low noise in a compact format
Up to 4,226 RCF and 6,000 rpm – performance matching larger and heavier centrifuges. Extremely short acceleration and deceleration times enable fast sample handling.

Quiet operation
Noise level of max. 52 dB(A) with angle rotor 1628 – which makes it well suited for open industrial laboratories and production facilities.

Available with and without cooling
Universal 320 for standard applications and Universal 320R with integrated cooling from –20 °C to +40 °C with delay function.

IVDR-compliant
Certified in accordance with EU Regulation 2017/746 for use in regulated diagnostic and industrial environments.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Rotofix 32A offers nine available rotors and supports a wider range of tube types and sample volumes than any comparable benchtop centrifuge in its class — from microliters up to 94 ml flasks. Combined with a compact footprint of only 366 × 430 mm and a weight of approx. 23 kg, it delivers laboratory-grade flexibility without requiring dedicated bench space or cooling infrastructure.

Depending on the rotor selected, Rotofix 32A handles up to 4 × 100 ml, 6 × 94 ml, 40 blood tubes or 8 × 50 ml conical tubes per run. With the 12-place swing-out rotor (Cat. No. 1628), up to 12 × 15 ml tubes can be processed simultaneously.

Yes. Rotofix 32A is compatible with most existing funnel and glass systems used in cytology and cell preparation, making it a practical choice for clinical and research laboratories that perform cytological analyses on a routine basis.

The two individual braking steps allow the operator to select gentle deceleration at the end of a run — essential when working with samples where pelleting must not be disturbed, such as blood separations, gradient centrifugation or sensitive biological specimens. This gives greater control over sample integrity compared to a single fixed braking profile.

Yes. Rotofix 32A is IVDR-compliant in accordance with EU Regulation 2017/746, making it approved for use in regulated diagnostic and industrial environments across the EU.
