The Memmert water bath for the temperature control of ointments, emulsions, samples, plates and nutrient solutions in the laboratory, as well as warm storage and calibration in the industrial segments available in six model sizes. The operating concept of the wather bath WTB impresses with its intuitive and convenient menu navigation. Advantages

Intuitive touchscreen operation
A 3.5″ colour touchscreen display with pared-back menu navigation makes the WTB usable straight out of the box. No training needed — touch, turn and go.

CustomView — a personalised remote display
CustomView lets you decide which parameters appear on the display at any moment: one, two or three values. The view appears immediately at start-up and is readable from anywhere in the lab, so monitoring doesn’t mean leaving your bench.

2-point calibration
Every WTB can be calibrated by the user at two freely chosen temperatures — useful for compensating load-dependent deviation. That gives high precision without calling out a service engineer.

Three-stage safety system
A silicone heating element with dry-running protection, soft start and an over-temperature limiter means the WTB protects itself from overheating, even with no water in it. This cuts service costs considerably and makes unattended operation safer.

Rapid drainage with no residue
The stainless steel container has rounded corners and a standard drain valve, so it empties completely. No hidden pockets of water for bacteria to grow in — simple and hygienic.

Modular accessory system
Circulation pump, Peltier cooler (CDP115), shaking device, test tube rack and insertable grid can all be retrofitted without special tools. The WTB grows with the application.

Peltier cooling for work below ambient
With the CDP115 Peltier cooling unit, the WTB can work down to +10 °C. It fits every WTB size and needs no refrigerant — compact and environmentally sound.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most water baths are damaged or destroyed if started without water or allowed to boil dry. The WTB has three layers of protection: dry-running protection that stops heating when the water level drops too low, soft start that prevents the element overheating at start-up without water, and a mechanical over-temperature limiter as the last line of defence. The silicone heating element protects itself, which cuts expensive service costs substantially.

2-point calibration lets you adjust the WTB against two freely chosen reference temperatures, typically to compensate for deviation caused by the heat capacity of the load or by local conditions. For quality control, calibration laboratories and validated processes this is valuable. For ordinary daily use the standard accuracy is usually sufficient.

Yes, with the CDP115 Peltier cooling unit (accessory). It fits every WTB size and gives temperature control down to +10 °C with no refrigerant. The unit is compact, quiet and environmentally sound.

For normal laboratory use, distilled or demineralised water is recommended to avoid limescale in the container and on the heating element. Tap water can be used but requires more frequent cleaning. The container drains completely through the standard drain valve, leaving no residue for bacteria to grow in.

Yes. The WTB’s modular design means the shaking device, circulation pump, Peltier cooler and other accessories fit without special tools — either at the point of purchase or as an upgrade to an existing unit.
