Advantages

Rotofix 46/46H is an exceptionally versatile centrifuge for industrial businesses – robust, compact and reliable.

Two rotors – high flexibility
With two available swing-out rotors and support for ASTM-specific tube types, Rotofix 46 handles everything from standard laboratory tubes to specialised petroleum tubes. No other benchtop centrifuge in this class offers comparable breadth.

Heated version for demanding analyses
Rotofix 46H adjusts chamber temperature from +10 to +90°C – essential for correct phase separation of viscous oil products and other temperature-sensitive samples.

Extremely robust construction
Metal housing, metal lid and stainless steel chamber make the centrifuge resistant to mechanical wear and chemical environments – also during field use.

Low noise
Noise level of max. 58 dB(A) makes it well suited for laboratory environments with noise requirements.

Simple and safe operation
Automatic rotor recognition, illuminated control panel with real-time values and imbalance protection ensure safe and error-free operation.

Brushless motor
Low maintenance requirements and long service life – ideal for intensive daily use in industry and production.

Flexible operation
Timer (1–99 min : 59 sec), continuous run and impulse button for brief centrifugation provide full control over the run process.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

The main difference is that Rotofix 46H has an integrated heating function that adjusts the chamber temperature from +10 to +90°C. This is essential for analyses where sample temperature affects the result – such as phase separation of viscous oil products. Rotofix 46H also has a lower maximum speed of 2,000 rpm and a maximum RCF of 984, compared to 4,000 rpm and 3,095 RCF for the standard model.

Yes. Rotofix 46 is specifically designed for petroleum testing according to ASTM standards. Special bowls hold ASTM pear-shaped tubes and conical tubes for determining water and solid content in crude oil and fuel. The heated version 46H allows the required temperature control for correct phase separation.

Rotofix 46 handles up to 4 × 290 ml per run with the standard swing-out rotor (Cat. No. 5694). With the ASTM rotor (Cat. No. 4474), the capacity is 4 × 100 ml per run.

The heating element in Rotofix 46H requires a different rotor configuration that is rated for a maximum of 2,000 rpm. This is sufficient for the temperature-sensitive analyses the 46H is designed for, where controlled temperature is more important than high centrifugal force.

Yes. Rotofix 46 is specifically built to withstand intensive use also in the field. The robust metal housing, metal lid and stainless steel chamber make it resistant to mechanical wear and chemical environments – making it a practical choice for mobile analysis teams and field laboratories in the petroleum and chemical industry.

Rotofix 46/46H is equipped with electric lid lock with fail-safe, emergency lid release for power failure, automatic rotor recognition to prevent incorrect rotor use, imbalance protection with automatic shutdown, and over-temperature protection. Together these features ensure safe operation even in demanding industrial environments.
