Incubator I

In the laboratory, the Memmert incubator I is ideal for all applications with temperatures up to +80°C – specifically for incubating living cultures at +37 °C. Thanks to the finely-tuned control technology, critical temperature overshoots are completely ruled out, valuable loads are therefore warmed up particularly carefully in this highly precise microbiological incubator.

Memmert incubator I – a gentle force in the laboratory

To guarantee optimum air circulation in the incubator chamber even when it is fully loaded, both model variants SingleDISPLAY and TwinDISPLAY are available with an adjustable air fan. Since our unique all-round surface heating is optimally geared to both natural convection and forced air circulation, the fan can be switched off entirely for sensitive samples and for samples which may not be exposed to air turbulence.

The Memmert Incubator I is built for laboratories where temperature precision and gentle handling of sensitive samples are critical. It is specifically optimised for incubation at +37 °C — physiological temperature for living cultures and biological samples.

The incubators come in two circulation versions: IN (natural convection) for especially gentle handling without air turbulence, and IF (forced air circulation with adjustable fan) for faster and more homogeneous temperature distribution at high chamber loading.

Critical temperature overshoots are ruled out
The finely tuned control technology ensures the temperature never exceeds the set value. This matters for living cultures and biological samples that can be damaged by even brief temperature spikes.

Double doors — a clear view without a drop in temperature
An inner glass door and an outer insulated steel door give full visibility of the chamber without opening the insulating outer door, reducing temperature fluctuation during frequent inspection.

All-round surface heating
The unique all-round surface heating is optimally matched to both natural convection and forced air circulation. For sensitive samples the fan can be switched off entirely, with no effect on the heating system.

Adjustable fan
Both model versions (SingleDISPLAY and TwinDISPLAY) are available with an adjustable fan that maintains optimum air circulation even at full chamber loading.

Sterilisation routine via ControlCOCKPIT
TwinDISPLAY models support activation of a sterilisation routine via ControlCOCKPIT — for straightforward, documentable cleaning and disinfection of the chamber.

Pre-heated fresh air
An electronically adjustable air flap admits pre-heated fresh air to the chamber — critical for applications where atmospheric composition matters.

SingleDISPLAY and TwinDISPLAY
SingleDISPLAY gives simple, intuitive operation for everyday use. TwinDISPLAY (plus models) adds advanced multi-segment programming, USB connectivity, data logging and full compatibility with AtmoCONTROL software.

Frequently Asked Questions

The incubator is optimised for biological applications, with a temperature range up to +80 °C and standard calibration at +37 °C — physiological temperature for living cultures. It has double doors (glass plus steel) for visibility without a temperature drop, and the control technology is designed specifically to rule out critical overshoots. The heating ovens (UF) are built for drying and curing up to +300 °C and have no glass door.

The IN model heats the chamber without a fan — ideal for samples sensitive to airflow, such as loose bacterial cultures, open Petri dishes or insects. The IF model has an adjustable fan giving faster and more homogeneous temperature distribution, preferred at high chamber loading or where uniform temperature is critical. The fan can be switched off on IF models for gentle handling.

TwinDISPLAY models include a built-in sterilisation routine that heats the chamber to a preset temperature for a defined period, giving documentable cleaning and disinfection between experiments. The routine is activated from the touchscreen.

No. The Memmert Incubator I is not a CO₂ incubator. It has an electronically adjustable air flap for admixture of pre-heated fresh air, but it is not equipped for connecting CO₂ gas or measuring CO₂ concentration. For CO₂ incubation we recommend a dedicated CO₂ incubator.

Yes. The incubator can be supplied with entry ports in 14, 23, 38, 57 and 100 mm diameters in various positions — left, right and rear wall. This makes it well suited to monitoring loads with external sensors.
